Why is the cat so stressed during transport?
Cats are territorial animals that feel safe in familiar surroundings. Taking them out of the home, shutting them in a carrier and placing them in a moving car combines everything they fear: loss of bearings, noise, unfamiliar smells and a feeling of no longer being in control. Hence the meowing, panting or freezing.
Prepare the carrier in advance
The carrier should not only appear on vet days, otherwise it becomes an alarm signal.
On travel day
A few simple steps clearly reduce stress:
Why dedicated pet transport helps
A pet driver knows these situations: a calm vehicle, suitable driving, the ability to secure the carrier properly, and no stressful wait in a crowded room since you travel directly. For an anxious cat, or an elderly or sick animal, this calm makes a real difference — for them and for you.
And after the appointment?
On the way back, let your cat come out of the carrier on its own, at its own pace, in a quiet room. Do not force it. If it went through an unpleasant treatment, a little time and a few treats will help it settle back in.
